Boness Rents Search
This data was taken from original rent ledgers relating to Boness, which we have since donated to West Lothian Archives. Each entry consists of the rent payer's name and occupation, the address of the rented property, the years for which the property was occupied, and the rent paid. Unfortunately, the ledgers did not bear any indication of who owned these properties, apart from the word ' Seabox ' on the covers, so if anyone can enlighten us, please do contact us. The land was probably owned by a local landed family.

Please note that these properties do not represent a complete record of all properties in Boness. Nevertheless, we hope that the data will be of interest to anyone seeking their ancestry in Boness. The entries after 1901 may be particularly useful, as no census records are available after that year.
